Wisdom Gained from Life's Missteps
In an interview during the Pan Am games Elaine Tanner said, “you sometimes learn more by losing than by winning.” (Quoted from the Winnipeg Free Press)
Don’t be afraid to fail, you fell down the first time you tried to walk.
Did you hit the ball the first time you swung the bat at it? Babe Ruth hit 714 home runs, but he also struck out 1,330 times. The message is, don’t worry about failure. The failing can be a learning experience if we are willing to learn.
I remember making my first cake (by the way in an old wood stove). My dad said to my brothers, “you boys eat the cake.” Sure glad he did make them eat it. Now, I make a good cake that’s not burnt.
